Transforming Our Region


Midwest Health Initiative
is a regional quality improvement collaborative aimed at improving health and health care through shared knowledge and understanding.

Health Literacy Missouri  provides assistance to state and national organizations working to improve health literacy within their communities.

The Missouri Center for Patient Safety
works to create a health care environment that is safe for all patients, in all processes, at all times.

Missouri Foundation for Health aims to improve the health of the people in the communities it serves through grants, research and education.

Missouri Health Advocacy Alliance works to provide a united, consumer voice for
high-quality, affordable health care choices in Missouri.

Missouri Office of Health Information Technology
houses the MO-HITECH Advisory Board which was appointed by Gov. Jay Nixon to develop plans for the long-term sustainability of health information technology in Missouri.

St. Louis Diabetes Coalition works collaboratively to make improvements in diabetes care that result in sustainable clinical outcomes across the community.

The St. Louis Regional Asthma Consortium collaborates with diverse organizations and individuals to reduce asthma morbity and improve the quality of life for people with asthma in the St. Louis region.

The National Business Coalition on Health
is a national, non-profit membership organization of purchaser-led health care coalitions.

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to helping Americans lead healthier lives and get the care they need.

The Leapfrog Group for Patient Safety
promotes improvements in the safety of health care by giving consumers data to make more informed health care choices.

The Center for Health Transformation is a collaboration of public and private sector leaders committed to creating an intelligent health system that saves money and saves lives.

The American Benefits Council is recognized as the preeminent advocate of employer-sponsored benefit programs in Washington, D.C.

The Commonwealth Fund aims to promote a high performance health care system that achieves better access, improved quality and greater efficiency.

The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation develops its own health policy research and communications programs and puts a wealth of findings on its web site.

The National Committee for Quality Assurance has helped to build consensus around important health care quality issues by working with large employers, policymakers, doctors, patients and health plans to decide what’s important, how to measure it, and how to promote improvement.
